{"id":15910,"date":"2017-08-26T20:17:17","date_gmt":"2017-08-26T15:17:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=15910"},"modified":"2022-12-13T13:49:01","modified_gmt":"2022-12-13T08:49:01","slug":"zardari-acquitted-in-a-20-years-old-corruption-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=15910","title":{"rendered":"Zardari acquitted in a 20 years old corruption case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>RAWALPINDI, 26 Aug (TNS):<\/strong> \u00a0Former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has been acquitted in a corruption case filed against him 20 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Khalid Mehmood Ranjha, of Accountability court no 1, accepted the plea from Zardari\u2019s lawyer Farooq Hamid Naek requesting acquittal of the Pakistan People\u2019s Party co-chairperson.<\/p>\n<p>The reference, pertaining to his assets, was filed filed in 1998 under sections of Accountability Act 1997 by National Accountability Bureau.<br \/>buy albuterol online <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artforhealingfoundation.org\/wp-content\/themes\/twentyfifteen\/inc\/php\/albuterol.html\">http:\/\/www.artforhealingfoundation.org\/wp-content\/themes\/twentyfifteen\/inc\/php\/albuterol.html<\/a> no prescription<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>The reference filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has no legal standing, stated the court order.<\/p>\n<p>After the verdict, Zardari\u2019s lawyer Farooq H Naek, while speaking to media, explained that the reference against the former president was filed by former NAB chairman Saif-ur-Rehman on Nawaz Sharif\u2019s request and added that the accountability body failed to provide any evidence in the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNAB\u2019s investigating officer accepted that Asif Ali Zardari had no share in the sugar mills,\u201d said Zardari\u2019s legal counsel.<\/p>\n<p>Naek said Zardari has been acquitted in eight corruption references. Six cases were filed during Nawaz Sharif\u2019s tenure while two were filed during Pervaiz Musharraf\u2019s tenure.<\/p>\n<p>After the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) was passed, all references against Zardari had ceased to exist.
