ISLAMABAD Aug. 29 (TNS):<\/strong> Senate Committee of the Whole House on Tuesday has finalized draft over Pakistan-United States of America relations and Donald Trump\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n

According to details, an in-camera consultation of Senate Committee was held during which a joint session of the parliament over Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani\u2019s recommendation was demanded. The House also discussed suggestions given by the draft committee.<\/p>\n

As per the draft, National Assembly is not authorized to approve any changes as it\u2019s the matter of House\u2019s independency.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif said he wishes that NA should approve the resolution designated by Senate. However, there will be no issue if both Houses table separate resolutions, he continued.<\/p>\n

He also informed the committee that Pakistan had suspended talks and visits to the US and has also called on Pakistani Ambassador to US to discuss the matter.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, NA will meet today to prepare strategy over Trump\u2019s criticism.<\/p>\n

On August 22, President Donald Trump warned Pakistan that Washington will no longer tolerate Pakistan offering “safe havens” to extremists.<\/p>\n

“We can no longer be silent about Pakistan\u2019s safe havens for terrorist organizations,” Trump declared, outlining a new US security strategy in South Asia.<\/p>\n

“Pakistan has much to gain from partnering with our effort in Afghanistan. It has much to lose by continuing to harbor criminals and terrorists.” Going further, Trump suggested that military and other aid to Washington\u2019s nuclear-armed ally is at stake if it does not clamp down on extremism.<\/p>\n

“We have been paying Pakistan billions and billions of dollars at the same time they are housing the very terrorists that we are fighting,” he said.<\/p>\n

“That will have to change and that will change immediately,” he said. “It is time for Pakistan to dedicate to civilization and order and peace.”<\/p>\n
