{"id":16772,"date":"2017-08-31T16:25:49","date_gmt":"2017-08-31T11:25:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=16772"},"modified":"2017-08-31T16:25:49","modified_gmt":"2017-08-31T11:25:49","slug":"na-speaker-sends-reference-against-ayesha-gulalai-to-ecp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=16772","title":{"rendered":"NA Speaker sends reference against Ayesha Gulalai to ECP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ISLAMABAD 31 aug (TNS):<\/strong>\u00a0National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has sent a reference against former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and MNA Ayesha Gulalai to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP),\u00a0seeking to de-notify from her seat.<br \/>\nThe ECP confirmed that it has received the reference.<br \/>\nPTI Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday had sent a notice to Gulalai stating that she has defected from the party in terms of Article 63 A (1) of the constitution.<br \/>\n\u201cIn furtherance thereof and in compliance with the requirements of Article 63 A (2) of the Constitution, this declaration is being forwarded to you as well as the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chief Election Commissioner for further action in accordance with the Constitution,\u201d states the notice.<br \/>\nGulalai, a member of the National Assembly from the PTI, quit the party earlier this month after levelling allegations of harassment and corruption at the PTI chief.<br \/>\nThe notice, dated August 28 and sent to Gulalai\u2019s home addresses in Islamabad and Peshawar, states that Gulalai on August 1 publically resigned from the party, and did not vote for the party\u2019s designated candidate in the prime minister\u2019s elections on August 1.<br \/>\n\u201cEach of your two aforementioned act(s) and omission(s) fall squarely within and constitute valid and actionable grounds under Articles 63 A (1) (a) and 63 (1) (b) (i) of the Constitution for declaring that you have defected from the PTI in terms of the said provisions of the Constitution.<br \/>\nIt also mentions that Gulalai failed to reply to a show-cause notice issued to her by the party on August 10.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD 31 aug (TNS):\u00a0National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has sent a reference against former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and MNA Ayesha Gulalai to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP),\u00a0seeking to de-notify from her seat.
