{"id":28281,"date":"2017-11-01T20:17:50","date_gmt":"2017-11-01T15:17:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=28281"},"modified":"2017-11-01T20:17:50","modified_gmt":"2017-11-01T15:17:50","slug":"pakistan-was-ready-to-crackdown-on-terrorists-if-provided-with-information-tillerson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=28281","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan was ready to crackdown on terrorists if provided with information: Tillerson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, Nov. 1 (TNS):<\/strong> The US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson said that Pakistan was ready to crackdown on terrorists if provided with information, Tillerson said, indicating the US planned to provide it the opportunity to prove its willingness.<\/p>\n<p>Tillerson said this while briefing US lawmakers, \u2018Afghanistan Times\u2019 reported on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Asked by Senator John Barrasso to share with the committee the outcome of his last week\u2019s visit to Islamabad, the secretary replied: \u201cPakistanis have indicated if we provide them information they will act.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to have to test that, give them an opportunity to do so. So, we are going to enter into an effort to have greater sharing of certain intelligence information,\u201d Tillerson added.<\/p>\n<p>However Rex alleged that Pakistan has had long-standing ties to the Haqqni network and the Afghan Taliban.<\/p>\n<p>Relations with the militant organisations might have helped Pakistan\u2019s stability in the past, but they no longer served that purpose, the secretary told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it\u2019s up to Pakistan I think, to think about their longer-term stability and their future by changing that relationship with these organizations,\u201d the senior US diplomat said at the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Washington, Nov. 1 (TNS): The US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson said that Pakistan was ready to crackdown on terrorists if provided with information, Tillerson said, indicating the US planned to provide it the opportunity to prove its willingness.
