{"id":28308,"date":"2017-11-01T22:55:58","date_gmt":"2017-11-01T17:55:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=28308"},"modified":"2017-11-01T22:55:58","modified_gmt":"2017-11-01T17:55:58","slug":"pakistan-iran-agree-for-lasting-peace-in-afghanistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=28308","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan, Iran agree for lasting peace in Afghanistan\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Islamabad, Nov. 1 (TNS):<\/strong> To bring peace in the region, two major stakeholders Pakistan and Iran on Wednesday held informal consultations regarding the regional situation where it was mutually agreed that lasting peace in Afghanistan\u00a0is imperative.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, the first round of\u00a0the discourse took place at the level of director generals of the ministries of foreign affairs. Both sides agreed to join hands to ensure peace and stability of the war-torn neighbouring Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>The Pakistani side was led by DG Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmed Khan\u00a0while\u00a0Iran was spearheaded by\u00a0Director General Rasoul Eslami of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Islamabad and Tehran\u00a0also reaffirmed their resolve and support to\u00a0Kabul as well as the international community in achieving lasting peace in Afghanistan.\u00a0They\u00a0agreed that a peaceful Afghanistan is imperative to regional stability.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0officials also underscored that a military action was not the solution to the conflict-stricken\u00a0country and a credible political process owned and led by the government in Kabul\u00a0is\u00a0needed for an internal settlement.<\/p>\n<p>The Pakistani delegation\u00a0said it attaches importance to engagement with its neighbour in the\u00a0political, security, economic and people-to-people interaction to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>The two sides discussed the major threat of terrorism to global and regional peace.
