{"id":28612,"date":"2017-11-03T16:36:46","date_gmt":"2017-11-03T11:36:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=28612"},"modified":"2017-11-03T16:36:46","modified_gmt":"2017-11-03T11:36:46","slug":"twitter-employee-on-last-day-of-job-deactivated-trumps-personal-account","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=28612","title":{"rendered":"Twitter employee on last day of job deactivated Trump\u2019s personal account"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, Nov. 3 (TNS):<\/strong> US President Trump&#8217;s personal Twitter account was briefly deactivated by a departing company employee, Twitter said, raising serious questions about\u00a0the security of a social-media tool the president wields to set major policy agendas, connect with his voter base and\u00a0lash out at his adversaries.<\/p>\n<p>The deactivation sparks deep and troubling questions about who has access to the president&#8217;s personal account, @realDonaldTrump, and the power that access holds.<\/p>\n<p>The deactivation also came at a time when the social network is under scrutiny for the role it played in spreading Russian propaganda during the 2016 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&#8217;s account\u00a0disappeared at around 7 p.m. ET Thursday, when visitors to the page were met with the message, \u201cSorry,\u00a0that page\u00a0doesn&#8217;t exist!\u201d\u00a0For about an hour, even after the account returned, the Twittersphere joked about the short-lived window of history without @realDonaldTrump.<\/p>\n<p>Then, at 8:05 p.m., at the same time Trump was\u00a0tweeting about tax reform, the company\u00a0posted a statement\u00a0saying the president&#8217;s \u201caccount was inadvertently deactivated due to human error by a Twitter employee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe account was down for 11 minutes, and has since been restored,\u201d Twitter&#8217;s statement read. \u201cWe are continuing to investigate and are taking steps to prevent this from happening again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But two hours later, the company admitted that the deactivation wasn&#8217;t an accident at all: A preliminary investigation revealed that the account was taken offline\u00a0\u201cby a Twitter customer support employee who did this on the employee&#8217;s last day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Washington, Nov. 3 (TNS): US President Trump&#8217;s personal Twitter account was briefly deactivated by a departing company employee, Twitter said, raising serious questions about\u00a0the security of a social-media tool the president wields to set major policy agendas, connect with his voter base and\u00a0lash out at his adversaries.
