{"id":28723,"date":"2017-11-04T10:43:39","date_gmt":"2017-11-04T05:43:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=28723"},"modified":"2017-11-04T10:43:39","modified_gmt":"2017-11-04T05:43:39","slug":"no-possibility-of-martial-law-in-pakistan-interior-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=28723","title":{"rendered":"No possibility of martial law in Pakistan: interior minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ISLAMABAD Nov 04 (TNS):<\/strong> Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that there is no likelihood of martial law being imposed in Pakistan and that such an act is synonymous to breaking the country.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to a private TV channel, Iqbal said that the military leadership believes in following the country\u2019s law and constitution.<\/p>\n<p>He further said that there are certain lobbies in the United States which wish to see martial law in Pakistan. This is so that Pakistan can be turned into a failed state and deprived of its atomic weapons, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The interior minister has on various occasions stressed on the supremacy of the civilian government while criticising those \u201ctrying to create rift between institutions&#8221;. Speaking to media on October 23, he said that a particular lobby is hell-bent on constructing a narrative to provoke unconstitutional acts in the country \u201cso that they get their jobs back\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Iqbal said that there is a \u201ctroika of failed politicians, retired generals, and TV talk show hosts\u201d which makes claims about political and economic stability in the country everyday on TV.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to a question, Iqbal reiterated that there is no clash between institutions, adding that the election will be held on time in 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD Nov 04 (TNS): Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that there is no likelihood of martial law being imposed in Pakistan and that such an act is synonymous to breaking the country.
