LAHORE November 13 (TNS):<\/strong> In his interaction with the participants of the 1st International Youth Summit today, Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif threw light on the role of education and peace in achieving sustainable development goals stressing it is a prerequisite to attaining to progress and prosperity.<\/p>\n

He was interacting in the 1st International Youth Summit on Saturday which kicked off here with the participation youth of over 40 different countries.<\/p>\n

Participants of International Youth summit met Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif here in Lahore today in the last leg of their IYSL-2017 event.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Underlining the need for more youth-driven interactions to build bridges of understanding among nations, CM Punjab shared Pakistan\u2019s struggle in fighting off the challenges of terrorism, and economic development with a special focus on mainstreaming of social sector in the public policy agenda of Punjab. \u201cI believe that this should be the goal and striving for each of us and youth-driven connections can unify nations by building bridges of understanding,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

He said that with understanding we can strengthen relationships, revitalize neighborhoods, unify nations, and even bring peace to a troubled world. Without it chaos, intolerance, hate, and war are often the result. All of our interpersonal relationships should be built on a foundation of mutual respect, trust, and appreciation. In no way should all of us denigrate the positive role of every nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur differences add flavor and perspective to our relationships, especially if those relationships are built on true values, openness, respect, trust, and understanding. Can you see the great opportunity that is ours and yours to build bridges of understanding among the peoples of the world,\u201d said Shehbaz Sharif.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must peacefully coexist with each other. We can pleasantly agree to disagree with everybody on certain points but we must unite and act in unison in the great common benevolent service to mankind. We need to be kind and gentle in our conversations. All of us, regardless of race, color, or creed, belong to the one family \u2013 mankind. Our understanding and knowledge of this basic truth should compel us to love all. Our deep-rooted respect for all mankind can be enhanced by our understanding of our experiences together. We should lend ourselves to understanding when we share our position with others,\u201d CM Punjab remarked.<\/p>\n

It was a massive opportunity where students asked Chief Minister several questions regarding different international issues and he responded in a frank and candid manner, greeting them in their respective languages.<\/p>\n

The delegates visiting from 40 countries were taken to a trip to old Lahore, historic Kasur, Changa Manga and Narowal.<\/p>\n

IYSL-2017 was held in Lahore, the cultural hub of Pakistan, by the Center of Sustainability, Research and Practice (CSRP) with University of Lahore as the host institution.<\/p>\n
