{"id":30688,"date":"2017-11-13T16:54:12","date_gmt":"2017-11-13T11:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=30688"},"modified":"2017-11-13T16:54:12","modified_gmt":"2017-11-13T11:54:12","slug":"foreign-assets-lhc-seeks-response-from-imran-nawaz-zardari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=30688","title":{"rendered":"Foreign assets: LHC seeks response from Imran, Nawaz, Zardari"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>LAHORE Nov 13 (TNS):<\/strong> The Lahore High Court sought on Monday responses from 64 politicians, including PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, PPP Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari and PTI Chairperson Imran Khan, over\u00a0their foreign assets.<\/p>\n<p>All the listed politicians have been given time till December 7 to submit their responses on ownership of assets abroad.<\/p>\n<p>The directives were issued during a hearing by Justice Mamoon Rashid.<\/p>\n<p>The request seeking details on foreign assets was submitted by Barrister Javed Iqbal Jafri.<\/p>\n<p>According to the petitioner, 64 political leaders, including Nawaz, Imran and Zardari, have not submitted details of their foreign assets.<\/p>\n<p>He stated some politicians have responded while others have not.<\/p>\n<p>As per the petitioner, the respondent politicians had transferred millions of dollars to foreign countries through money laundering, causing a huge loss to the national exchequer.<\/p>\n<p>He stated these politicians had not yet submitted to the court their affidavits regarding alleged money laundering despite repeated court orders.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, Jafri said Pakistan would have no need to get foreign loans if assets of the politicians were brought back to Pakistan to return the debt the country is plunged in.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, at Monday\u2019s hearing, the bench issued directives, seeking responses by December 7.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, the lawyer had filed this petition originally in 1996 against 26 political leaders.<\/p>\n<p>However, he later amended it, adding more names of politicians to it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE Nov 13 (TNS): The Lahore High Court sought on Monday responses from 64 politicians, including PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, PPP Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari and PTI Chairperson Imran Khan, over\u00a0their foreign assets.
