ISLAMABAD Dec 04 (TNS):<\/strong> Pakistan People\u2019s Party Senior Leader and Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior, Senator A. Rehman Malik has felicitated workers across the country on the occasion of the party\u2019s 50th foundation day anniversary.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday is the day to pay rich tributes to former prime minister Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and founding members of PPP for architecting a political platform which introduced the people of Pakistan with their basic democratic rights,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He said the people of Pakistan were deprived of their basic democratic rights in the absence of Constitution before the foundation of PPP. It\u2019s a party of the poor, farmers and labourers, who sacrificed their lives, were sent to jails and underwent lashes.<\/p>\n

He said that PPP, which was founded on November 30, 1967, is the political party of the country which exists in every part of the country from Khyber to Karachi and FATA to Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK.<\/p>\n

Senator Rehman Malik said, \u201cPPP is the only political party that is a symbol of federation and has always strengthened the federating units\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said that PPP has rendered massive sacrifices for the well-being of Pakistan, its people and strengthening democracy adding that he is proud to be the part of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n

He said that PPP is an ideology and vision of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto which is leading the masses in every difficult time and is turned into \u2018the name of struggle of its people\u2019.<\/p>\n

He added that \u201cwe PPP take these 50 Years as \u201csymbol of struggle for democratic, social & fundamental rights\u201d.<\/p>\n

He also lauded the contribution of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for her sacrifices for the cause of democracy and people\u2019s rights.<\/p>\n

\u201cPPP\u2019s leader Senator A. Rehman Malik while commending the role of former President Asif Ali Zardari said that taking forward the mission of Shaheed Z A Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Asif Ali Zardari as President not only restored the democracy but also reenergized the party and led the nation and party in the most difficult time.<\/p>\n

\u201cAsif Ali Zardari while playing the role as a real democratic leader transferred all his powers to the Parliament proudly to strengthen democracy and democratic institutions\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Senator A. Rehman Malik said that \u201cwe are cheered and proud today that PPP is being led by another daring Bhutto \u2013 Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who is taking forward the ideology of PPP with his young and inspirational leadership\u201d.<\/p>\n
