{"id":44523,"date":"2018-01-15T22:50:17","date_gmt":"2018-01-15T17:50:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=44523"},"modified":"2018-01-15T22:50:17","modified_gmt":"2018-01-15T17:50:17","slug":"indian-congress-leader-lands-in-hot-waters-for-liking-khawaja-asifs-tweet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=44523","title":{"rendered":"Indian Congress leader lands in hot waters for liking Khawaja Asif\u2019s tweet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>New Delhi, Jan. 15 (TNS):<\/strong> Indian ruling party BJP&#8217;s\u00a0Amit Malviya\u00a0and opposition Congress leader Shashi\u00a0Tharoor\u00a0on Monday sparred on Twitter after the latter &#8220;liked&#8221; a tweet by\u00a0Pakistan foreign minister Khawaja M Asif where he condemned the statement made by Indian Army Chief\u00a0General Bipin Rawat.<br \/>\nTerming it a &#8220;shameful&#8221; act, Malviya, who is BJP&#8217;s national information and technology in-charge, posted a screen grab of a tweet liked by the Congress leader. The tweet, liked by Tharoor, was from the foreign minister of Pakistan where he had condemned the statement by Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44525\" src=\"https:\/\/tns.world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Capture2-6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"514\" height=\"266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tns.world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Capture2-6.png 514w, https:\/\/tns.world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Capture2-6-300x155.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 514px) 100vw, 514px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tharoor refuted Malviya&#8217;s allegation and said that he uses Twitter&#8217;s like feature as a bookmark to revisit them (the liked tweet) at a later time.<\/p>\n<p>To drive his point home, Tharoor even retweeted a Congress&#8217;s activist tweet, where the activist had cited a reply made by Tharoor in 2013 offering his clarification on a similar issue.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44526\" src=\"https:\/\/tns.world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Capture-15.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"517\" height=\"641\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tns.world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Capture-15.png 517w, https:\/\/tns.world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Capture-15-242x300.png 242w, https:\/\/tns.world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Capture-15-339x420.png 339w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 517px) 100vw, 517px\" \/><br \/>\n&#8220;&#8230;not weird at all. I use &#8220;favourites&#8221; (Twitter&#8217;s earlier equivalent of &#8220;Like&#8221;) as a bookmark.
