{"id":45061,"date":"2018-01-17T21:08:26","date_gmt":"2018-01-17T16:08:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=45061"},"modified":"2018-01-17T21:08:26","modified_gmt":"2018-01-17T16:08:26","slug":"afghan-lawmakers-welcome-pakistan-clerics-fatwa-against-suicide-bombings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=45061","title":{"rendered":"Afghan lawmakers welcome Pakistan clerics\u2019 fatwa against suicide bombings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Kabul, Jan. 17 (TNS):<\/strong> Afghan lawmakers on Wednesday welcomed an Islamic directive or\u00a0fatwa\u00a0issued by hundreds of Pakistani clerics forbidding suicide bombings as haram.<\/p>\n<p>However, the\u00a0Wolesi Jirga\u00a0or lower house members said the fatwa came under US pressure on\u00a0Pakistan\u00a0over Islamabad\u2019s role in the war against terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistani\u00a0Ulema\u2019s Fatwa on labeling the suicide bombing unlawful but added the move came after\u00a0external\u00a0pressure on Islamabad to do more in fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>More than 1800 renowned Pakistani ulema had signed the fatwa declaring suicide attacks as haram in a book released by the Pakistani government at a ceremony in Islamabad on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Lawmaker Ghulam Farooq Majroh from western Herat province called the fatwa by Pakistani clerics as \u201ca positive move\u201d and claimed it came as a result of US pressure on Islamabad.<\/p>\n<p>He hoped the fatwa would help reduce suicide bombings and terrorist attacks in Pakistan and\u00a0Afghanistan. He asked scholars of other Muslim countries to issue similar decrees.<\/p>\n<p>Habib Afghan, a\u00a0Kuchi\u00a0tribe representative, said the Pakistani Ulema had lately issued the fatwa against suicide bombings and terrorism. He said many precious lives could have been secured had the fitwa been issued some years back.<\/p>\n<p>President Ashraf Ghani has said Islam belongs to all Muslims and Ulema\u2019s fatwa against terrorism is not limited to a certain country or region.<\/p>\n<p>It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan Army Chief Gen.
