Jayanath C. Perera, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi here on Friday, says a press release issued by the PM office.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, this was the High Commissioner\u2019s first call on the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n<p>The High Commissioner congratulated the Prime Minister on assumption of office. He also thanked the Government of Pakistan for facilitating Buddhists who travel to Pakistan for religious pilgrimage. He also conveyed the request of the Sri Lankan Government for providing the \u2018Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha\u2019 which would be showcased during \u2018Vesak Festival\u2019 in Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n<p>The High Commissioner also expressed the gratitude of his Government for the prompt provision of fertilizer by Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister while conveying his warm regards for the Leadership of Sri Lanka stated that Pakistan and Sri Lanka maintain friendly cooperation in all areas which needs to be further strengthened.
