Islamabad, March 21 (TNS): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi condemned the\u00a0terrorist attack on a shrine in Kabul on Wednesday which claimed 26 lives, says a press release issued by theForeign Office.<\/p>\n
The premier stated this during a meeting with Afghan ambassador Omar Zakhilwal who called on the former in Islamabad.<\/p>\n
Ongoing efforts for lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan between the two countries were also discussed during the meeting, the statement added.<\/p>\n
The premier expressed his solidarity with the government and people of Afghanistan over this brazen act of terrorism.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the FO added, Abbasi underscored Islamabad\u2019s desire to strengthen engagement with Kabul to foster mutually beneficial cooperation in diverse fields.<\/p>\n
The two leaders agreed that institutional interaction and high level exchanges are imperative to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation.<\/p>\n
Abbasi stressed the need to expedite ongoing regional projects including the TAPI [Turkmenistan\u2013Afghanistan\u2013Pakistan\u2013India\u00a0Pipeline]\u00a0and CASA-1000 [Central Asia-South Asia power project.]<\/p>\n
PM Abbasi reiterated Pakistan\u2019s support to the efforts for Afghan reconciliation under an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.<\/p>\n
Zakhilwal lauded the prime minister\u2019s support to strengthen bilateral relations while also conveying Kabul\u2019s desire for meaningful engagement with Pakistan in all areas.<\/p>\n
