Islamabad March 22 (TNS):<\/strong> In an attempt to hoodwink and conceal his own illegal activities, a self-championed president of a private housing society has approached the Supreme Court seeking action against alleged land grabbers.
\nAnsar Gondal, who was fired as president of the Civilian Employees Cooperative Housing Society Soan Gardens on charges of distributing over 50 plots illegally and he is under investigation, has published an advertisement in an Urdu newspaper, seeking Supreme Court protection from the alleged land grabbers.<\/p>\n

\nInterestingly, Gondal himself is facing corruption charges and illegal activities of land grabbing and he was fired from the president portfolio in 2016 after the illegal distribution of plots surfaced, got himself elected president of the housing society.

\nThe corruption cases against him are also being investigated by the National Accountability Bureau and the Federal Investigation Agency.<\/p>\n

\nAccording to CDA officials who wished not to be named said that the Sawan housing society under Gondal remained controversial and several scandals have surfaced in the past.
\nThe residents of the Swan Garden Housing Scheme including those holding commercial land have been facing undue trouble and harassment due to the tenacity of Gondal.
\nAn ICT official said that instead of surrendering to law to face charges against him, Gondal has tried to mislead and malign the superior judiciary through the advertisement.<\/p>\n

\nTalking to TNS, residents of the housing society asked the NAB to probe cases against Gondal transparently and courts treat him according to the law without being carried away by such fictitious advertisements. They said that the NAB and the FIA immediately resumed the pending investigations against Gondal over his alleged involvement in illegalities in commercial plots in Soan Garden worth billions of rupees.
