{"id":63537,"date":"2018-05-03T20:23:10","date_gmt":"2018-05-03T15:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=63537"},"modified":"2018-05-03T20:34:38","modified_gmt":"2018-05-03T15:34:38","slug":"sc-rejects-faisal-raza-abidis-plea-to-transfer-his-case-to-karachi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=63537","title":{"rendered":"SC approves  Abidi\u2019s plea of sending the contempt case to another bench"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>ISLAMABAD, May 03 (TNS): The top court on Thursday approved Faisal Raza Abidi\u2019s plea of sending the contempt case to another bench.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Justice of Pakistan, however, rejected his plea to transfer his case to Karachi and ordered the case to be transferred to a different bench of the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>PPP leader Faisal Raza Abidi was issued contempt of court notice upon his remarks about judges.<\/p>\n<p>During the hearing, Abidi appeared in court after having been summoned by the chief justice over his \u2018anti-judiciary\u2019 remarks on a private television channel.<\/p>\n<p>The footage of the show was aired in court, after which Chief Justice Saqib Nisar remarked that Abidi has yet to apologise.<\/p>\n<p>Abidi\u2019s counsel stated that they have submitted two requests in the apex court but the bench rejected them, observing that the method of apology used by Abidi\u2019s counsel is not appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Ijazul Ahsan inquired if Abidi\u2019s counsel has a licence to practice law at the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>The bench also rejected the counsel\u2019s plea to shift the hearing to Karachi.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; ISLAMABAD, May 03 (TNS): The top court on Thursday approved Faisal Raza Abidi\u2019s plea of sending the contempt case to another bench.
