Islamabad May 7 (TNS): Thousands of affected members of the Ministry of Commerce Employees\u2019 Cooperative Housing Society (MOCECHS) have announced to stage a protest sit-in and a hunger strike outside the NAB office on May 23 against what they said the involvement of some bureau officials in corruption, harassment and intimidation.<\/p>\n

The affected employees alleged that some NAB corrupt officials were pressuring and browbeating them and the management.<\/p>\n

The affected persons said that the NAB\u2019s corrupt officials were demanding plots in the society and creating hurdles in the smooth functioning of the society\u2019s affairs and it was a conspiracy against the NAB chief, who has vowed to put the house in order and take action against corrupt bureau officials. They have appealed to the NAB chief Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal to rein in the corrupt officials and take notice of the harassment at the hands of the corrupt NAB officials.<\/p>\n

The affected housing society members have also appealed to the army chief and the chief justice to take notice of the issue and order an inquiry against the corrupt NAB officials<\/p>\n

The affected members said that they will not call off their protest until they were assured that no NAB official will harass or interfere in the affairs of the society.<\/p>\n

It is pertinent to mention here that NAB has frozen bank accounts of MOCECHS in wake of an ongoing corruption inquiry.<\/p>\n

NAB move has affected more than 7000 allottees of the society as well.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the affected employees had called a hunger strike on May 7 but it was called-off later after assurance of some senior officers of NAB to resolve their issue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
