{"id":63990,"date":"2018-05-07T13:39:49","date_gmt":"2018-05-07T08:39:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=63990"},"modified":"2018-05-07T13:39:49","modified_gmt":"2018-05-07T08:39:49","slug":"saudi-arabia-300kph-haramain-train-to-start-service-in-september","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=63990","title":{"rendered":"Saudi Arabia 300kph Haramain train to start service in September"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Riyadh May 7 (TNS): The first high-speed electric trains between Makkah and Madinah will be running by September, Saudi Transport Minister Nabil bin Mohammed Al-Amoudi said.<\/p>\n<p>The high-speed electric train is designed to travel at speeds of more than 300 kilometres per hour and is considered the fastest in the Middle East, Arab News reported.<\/p>\n<p>The railway will be able to carry 60 million passengers a year by the time it is fully operational at the beginning of 2019, Al-Amoudi said.<\/p>\n<p>The 450-kilometre mainline will travel through King Abdullah Economic City, with a short branch line to the new King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah.<\/p>\n<p>Transport is a main pillar of the national economy and a key driver of the economic renaissance that will take place under Saudi Arabia\u2019s Vision 2030 strategy, Al-Amoudi told the opening session of the two-day Makkah Economic Forum at The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Jeddah.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Riyadh May 7 (TNS): The first high-speed electric trains between Makkah and Madinah will be running by September, Saudi Transport Minister Nabil bin Mohammed Al-Amoudi said.
