Moscow May 14 (TNS): Top Israeli football club Beitar Jerusalem has announced plans to add \u2018Trump\u2019 to its name in honor of the US president Donald Trump, Russia Today reported.<\/p>\n
The six-time Israeli champions will now be known as Beitar Trump Jerusalem in tribute to US President Donald Trump, who formally recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in December, sparking an angry reaction from Muslim states around the world.<\/p>\n
A statement on the team\u2019s official Facebook page reads: \u201cPresident Donald Trump, in a courageous move, recognized Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel. \u201cThe football club Beitar Jerusalem, one of the most prominent symbols of the city, is happy to honor the President for his love and support with a gesture of our own.<\/p>\n The chairmen of the club, the owner Eli Tabib and the executive manager Eli Ohana have decided to add to the club\u2019s title the name of the American President who made history, and from now on will be called Beitar Trump Jerusalem. We have the greatest love for the President, and it will win!\u201d<\/p>\n The announcement was made just one day before the official opening ceremony of the US Embassy in Jerusalem, a step that seals the Trump administration\u2019s recognition of the holy city as Israel\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n Trump\u2019s daughter Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, who are also White House advisers, arrived in Israel to take part in the embassy opening ceremony on Monday.
