London, June 1 (TNS): Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi on Friday announced that he will make a massive donation of $20,000 to the hurricane relief cause.<\/p>\n

Afridi captained the ICC World XI in the Hurricane Relief T20 Challenge against the West Indies at Lord\u2019s on Thursday.<\/p>\n

However, his side were comprehensively beaten by 72 runs, with West Indies opener Evin Lewis claiming the Man of the Match award for his 26-ball 58.<\/p>\n

The one-off Twenty20 International helped raise funds for five cricket grounds in the Caribbean that were damaged by hurricanes Irma and Maria \u2013 James Ronald Webster Park in Anguilla, Dominica\u2019s Windsor Park Stadium, Sir Viv Richards Stadium in Antigua, A.O. Shirley Recreation Ground in the British Virgin Islands and Carib Lumber Ball Park in St Maarten.<\/p>\n

With this in mind, Afridi confirmed that through his foundation \u2013 Hope Not Out \u2013 he will be donating a large amount to help those in need and ensure the grounds damaged are restored.<\/p>\n

It was a real honour for me and a memory I\u2019ll cherish for long,\u201d he said on Twitter. \u201cOn behalf of my Foundation I\u2019m making a donation 20000$ for the Hurricane victims in Caribbean,\u201d Afridi tweeted.<\/p>\n
