NEW DELHI, June 4 (TNS): We are living in a crazy time where Indian politicians just don’t leave a chance to shock the world by their knowledge and for some reason, most of them are obsessed with linking every modern invention\/discovery to ancient India, the Mahabharata and Ramayana age, be it aircraft, nuclear bombs, plastic surgery, stem cell technology, satellites, internet and even now test tube babies existed during the so called golden ancient age.<\/p>\n
Indian ruling party leader\u00a0Dinesh Sharma\u00a0said that Sita\u2019s birth in the \u201cRamayana\u201d was evidence of a \u201ctest-tube baby project\u201d. In less than 24 hours, the top\u00a0BJP\u00a0leadership asked him to exercise restraint.<\/p>\n
Addressing a function in Lucknow to mark Hindi Journalism Day, Sharma said: \u201cSitaji ka janm hua toh ghadey se hua… us samay test-tube baby ka koi na koi project raha hoga jo hal chalaya Janakji ne aur ghadey se baby nikli woh Sitaji ban gayi… ye jo aaj ka jo technology hai test-tube baby…woh raha hoga (Sita\u00a0was born in a pitcher… must be some test-tube baby project at that time; when King Janak was ploughing his field, a pitcher was discovered and the baby found in it came to be known as Sitaji).\u201d The video of Sharma\u2019s speech has since gone viral.<\/p>\n
