Islamabad,\u00a0June\u00a06 (TNS):\u00a0 Supreme Court on Wednesday resumed the hearing of the\u00a0Asghar Khan\u00a0case\u00a0and ordered all 31 respondents, including former Prime Minister\u00a0Nawaz Sharif, to submit\u00a0written\u00a0replies by\u00a0June\u00a09.<\/p>\n
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of\u00a0Pakistan\u00a0Justice\u00a0Saqib Nisarresumed the hearing of the implementation of the landmark judgment in the\u00a0Asghar Khan\u00a0Case.<\/p>\n
Notices have already been issued to as many as 31 individuals, including Sharif to appear before the\u00a0court, according to several media reports.
\nHowever, Sharif failed to appear before the\u00a0court.<\/p>\n
“All individuals linked in the\u00a0case\u00a0will have to appear before the\u00a0court,” Chief Justice Nisar remarked.<\/p>\n
“Where is Mr\u00a0Nawaz Sharif? His notice was collected by his security officer. Contact him and ask him to reach\u00a0court\u00a0within an hour,” directed the CJP.<\/p>\n
Later, the Attorney General informed the top judge that Sharif was present at the accountability\u00a0court\u00a0and was unable to attend the apex\u00a0court’s hearing, adding that the former will appear before the\u00a0court\u00a0through his\u00a0lawyer.
\nHowever, the decision to select the\u00a0counsel\u00a0in the\u00a0case\u00a0is yet to be made, the attorney general added.<\/p>\n
The hearing of the\u00a0case\u00a0has been adjourned till\u00a0June\u00a012.<\/p>\n
