{"id":70555,"date":"2018-07-05T16:32:27","date_gmt":"2018-07-05T11:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=70555"},"modified":"2018-07-05T16:32:27","modified_gmt":"2018-07-05T11:32:27","slug":"emirates-takes-a-u-turn-will-continue-to-serve-hindu-meal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=70555","title":{"rendered":"Emirates takes a U-turn, will continue to serve Hindu meal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dubai, July 5 (TNS): Day after announcing that it would stop serving \u2018Hindu meal\u2019 on its flights, Gulf carrier Emirates scrapped its decision on 4 July, citing customer feedback.<\/p>\n<p>In a U-turn, the airline said it would discontinue to \u2018Hindu meal\u2019 to its customers.<\/p>\n<p>On June 3, Emirates had announced that it won\u2019t serve \u2018Hindu meal\u2019 anymore, and that Hindu customers could choose from a variety of regionally-inspired vegetarian and non-vegetarian special meals.<\/p>\n<p>Emirates is the single largest foreign carrier operating in India in terms of flights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on feedback from our customers, Emirates confirms we will continue to provide a Hindu meal option, to make it easier for our Hindu customers to identify and request this option,\u201d the airline said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Stressing that Emirates constantly reviews its services after taking into consideration customer feedback, the statement added: \u201cFood and drink form an integral part of any Emirates flight experience and our menus are created by leading chefs to reflect the culture and preferences of Emirates\u2019 diverse customer base.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It noted: \u201cEmirates has always provided a wide variety of special meals that can be ordered at least 24 hours in advance to cater to our customers with medical or religious dietary requirements, including our Hindu customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While announcing the decision to discontinue the \u2018Hindu meal\u2019 option too, Emirates had referred to the company\u2019s review of the products and services available to customers.<\/p>\n<p>The airline had also said its Hindu customers could order in advance from \u201ca wide variety of regionally-inspired vegetarian and special meals\u201d catering to specific dietary requirements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEmirates also offers options of religious meals like Vegetarian Jain Meal, Indian Vegetarian Meal, Kosher meals and Non-Beef non-vegetarian options as well,\u201d it had said.<\/p>\n<p>The airline operates flights to Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kochi, Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram, according to its website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Dubai, July 5 (TNS): Day after announcing that it would stop serving \u2018Hindu meal\u2019 on its flights, Gulf carrier Emirates scrapped its decision on 4 July, citing customer feedback.
