ISLAMABAD, July 14 (TNS): The\u00a0top electoral body Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on has asked for a detailed briefing over security threats from\u00a0National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta), the candidates are facing after terrorist\u00a0attacks rocked Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the last week.<\/p>\n
The commission directed the Nacta\u2019s national coordinator to arrange the briefing on Saturday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe competent authority has desired to be immediately briefed on security threats to various political persons and the prevailing security situation,\u201d read the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) directions issued to Nacta.<\/p>\n
The chief election commissioner (CEC) will take stock of security threats being faced by politicians and candidates, an ECP spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan strongly condemned the Mastung massacre and attack on a convoy in Bannu and sought reports of the incidents.<\/p>\n
