ISLAMABAD, July 16 (TNS): <\/strong>In a major development, President All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) candidate Dr Muhammad Amjad has quit the race for NA-53 Islamabad-II in favour of the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.<\/p>\n In this regard, the president APML held a meeting with the Chairman PTI Imran Khan at his residence in Banigala, Islamabad on Monday, and announced to withdraw in favour of Imran Khan in NA-53 Islamabad-II.<\/p>\n As many as 34 Candidates including the Chairman PTI Imran Khan, the President APML Dr Amjad, Pakistan People\u2019s Party Parliamentarians\u2019 (PPPP) Syed Sibt Ul Haider Bukhari, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz\u2019s (PML-N) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, and Mutthida Majlis-e-Amal\u2019s (MMA) Mian Muhammad Aslam were vying for general elections 2018 from NA-53 Islamabad-II.<\/p>\n The PTI\u2019s Candidate in NA-54 Islamabad-III Asad Umar was also present in the meeting.<\/p>\n Dr Amjad also announced to withdraw his Candidate Muhammad Ashraf Shehzad Khan from NA-54 Islamabad-III in favour of Asad Umar.<\/p>\n The president APML also said that even he would not contest the upcoming general from NA-148 Sahiwal-II<\/p>\n The Chairman PTI Imran Khan thanked Dr Amjad for his support in general elections.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" ISLAMABAD, July 16 (TNS): In a major development, President All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) candidate Dr Muhammad Amjad has quit the race for NA-53 Islamabad-II in favour of the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.
