London, Aug. 16 (TNS): Pakistan-origins boxer Amir Khan\u2019s wife Faryal Makhdoom landed in hot waters yet again for her controversial post on social media, British media reported on Thursday.<\/p>\n
From their separation announcement last year to the couple having their second baby in April 2018, Amir and Faryal have managed to always make it to the top of the headlines. Much to no surprise, wife of the British-Pakistani boxer has\u00a0landed in yet another debacle.<\/p>\n
On August 14, Faryal posted a picture of herself on Instagram that she casually captioned \u201cThe p*** inside of me\u201d, referring to the racial slur used in the UK to cite Pakistanis. The use of the P-word dates back to the 1960s linked to violence directed to people of South Asian descent.<\/p>\n
Faryal received slack from her followers for using the \u2018derogatory term\u2019. Users said, \u201cDisgusting for you to use the word p***. It\u2019s a term used by racists and not something to be proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n
The criticism on the caption provoked the mother-of-two to issue a quick apology and change the text of her post. In an Instagram story that has now been deleted, Faryal wrote, \u201cHuge apologies for any offence caused. As a Pakistani myself, I don\u2019t deem shortening the word offensive, especially as we use it so openly in the US. However, I totally understand why it can be perceived that way.
