Islamabad, August 17 (TNS): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Imran Khan will go head on against each other on Thursday, as National Assembly (NA) elects it leader of the house.<\/p>\n
The session of National Assembly will commence from 3:30pm to elect the upcoming Prime Minister of Pakistan.<\/p>\n
National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser scrutinised nomination papers of both the candidates and declared them acceptable.<\/p>\n
According to sources Asif Ali Zardari has decided to refrain from taking part in the polls and has directed his party, Pakistan People’s Party to backout from the electoral process.<\/p>\n
The reason for not taking part in the electoral process is the opposition’s nominee Shehbaz Sharif, a candidate which the top brass of PPP does not approve.<\/p>\n
Which means that Asif Ali Zardari will not attend the historic session of the National Assembly that will elect its 22nd Prime Minister.<\/p>\n
Citing Shehbaz Sharif’s statements against Asif Ali Zardari in the past, PPP has decided not to back the opposition’s candidate.<\/p>\n
