{"id":75773,"date":"2018-08-17T13:19:11","date_gmt":"2018-08-17T08:19:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=75773"},"modified":"2018-08-17T13:19:11","modified_gmt":"2018-08-17T08:19:11","slug":"sc-grants-right-of-vote-to-overseas-pakistanis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=75773","title":{"rendered":"SC grants right of vote to overseas Pakistanis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Islamabad, Aug. 17 (TNS): The Supreme Court of Pakistan has granted the right of vote to overseas Pakistanis.<\/p>\n<p>A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar passed the order while hearing a suo motu case regarding the participation of overseas Pakistanis in the upcoming by-polls.<\/p>\n<p>During the proceedings, the Chief Justice directed the Election Commission of Pakistan to make fool proof arrangements to enable overseas Pakistanis to cast their votes in the by-polls.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the results of I-voting for overseas Pakistanis should be made part of the by-poll process.<\/p>\n<p>Welcoming the development, spokesman of PTI Fawad Chaudhary has said that the long struggle of party Chairman Imran Khan for grant of right of vote to overseas Pakistanis has succeeded.<\/p>\n<p>In a tweet, he said the court has laid down a procedure for right of vote for them.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Islamabad, Aug. 17 (TNS): The Supreme Court of Pakistan has granted the right of vote to overseas Pakistanis.
