Islamabad, Aug. 18 (TNS): Former Indian cricketer and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu drew much flak from his countrymen for attending the oath-taking ceremony of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday. Nevertheless, the Indian politician appeared upbeat during the ceremony in Pakistan and was a man with a song in his heart after the event was concluded. After the ceremony, Sidhu talked of the enormous love he received in Pakistan, encouraged the Indian government to take peace talks a notch up, opening of Kartarpur route and more.<\/p>\n
While speaking to media, Navjot Singh Sidhu said, \u201cIt is our duty that we go back and ask our government to take a step ahead. I hope if we take one step forward, people here (in Pakistan) will take two steps forward. General Bajwa\u00a0sahab<\/em>\u00a0hugged me and said \u2018We want peace\u2019. So let\u2019s swim in the blue ocean and shun red ocean. It is my dream.\u201d<\/p>\n The Punjab cabinet minister further revealed that he had more fruitful talks with the Pakistani military general. Sidhu told media that General Bajwa told him that Pakistan is pondering over opening the Kartarpur route on the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev.<\/p>\n \u201cI brought a message of love from India to Pakistan.
