{"id":76394,"date":"2018-08-27T13:30:24","date_gmt":"2018-08-27T08:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=76394"},"modified":"2018-08-27T13:30:24","modified_gmt":"2018-08-27T08:30:24","slug":"al-azizia-and-flagship-references-nawaz-appears-before-accountability-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tns.world\/?p=76394","title":{"rendered":"Al-Azizia and Flagship references: Nawaz appears before accountability court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>ISLAMABAD, Aug. 27 (TNS): Nawaz Sharif on Monday appeared before an accountability court in Islamabad for hearing of Al-Azizia and Flagship Investment references.<\/p>\n<p>Accountability court II Judge Mohammad Arshad Malik is remaining two corruption references against him and his family.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Friday, Judge Malik had submitted a written request to the Supreme Court seeking the fifth extension in Sharif\u2019s trial.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and comprising Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijazul Ahsan ordered a six-week extension in the deadline for concluding the remaining two corruption references.<\/p>\n<p>The trial against the Sharif family was commenced on September 14, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>On July 6, after four extensions in the original six-month deadline to conclude all three cases, the court announced its verdict in the Avenfield reference.<\/p>\n<p>Nawaz and his sons, Hussain and Hasan, are accused in all three references whereas Maryam and Safdar were accused in the Avenfield reference only.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; ISLAMABAD, Aug. 27 (TNS): Nawaz Sharif on Monday appeared before an accountability court in Islamabad for hearing of Al-Azizia and Flagship Investment references.
