Karachi, August 31 (TNS): Banking court in Karachi approved the pre-arrest bail of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Friday in money laundering case.<\/p>\n
Asif Ali Zardari appeared in the court amid strict security. The banking court also ordered Zardari to submit surety bonds worth Rs20 lac.<\/p>\n
As the former president arrived at the court, a journalist asked him, \u201cWhy didn’t you come in helicopter?\u201d asked the journalist. \u201cWait here and I will come back in helicopter,\u201d he replied.<\/p>\n
Speaking to the media, Farooq H. Naik said that after becoming President of Pakistan, Asif Zardari left all business relations with Zardari Group (Pvt) Ltd and didn’t even supervise it.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy client has not been shown as a suspect in the case. It has been said that money from A1 International came into Zaradri Group. How can Zardari be declared fugitive when he was contesting election? Neither the FIR nor the charge sheet says that my client committed money laundering,\u201d he maintained.<\/p>\n
It must be noted here that Zardari was granted protective bail from Islamabad High Court (IHC) while his sister Faryal Talpur, close aide and Omni Group Chairman Anwar Majeed and his three sons are out on interim bails.<\/p>\n
