Islamabad, Sept. 7 (TNS): Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that PTI-led government and the military establishment are on the same page to engage India through dialogues, Brish media reported.<\/p>\n
Pakistan is hopeful of dialogue with India but the country\u2019s eastern neighbour has yet to reciprocate\u00a0with positive\u00a0signals, said Chaudhry in an interview with\u00a0BBC Urdu<\/em>.<\/p>\n Chaudhry added that the government has given multiple posit<\/strong>ive signs to restart dialogue between the two nuclear-armed\u00a0neighbours and the armed forces also support the initiative.<\/p>\n \u201cPrime Minister Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa both understand that a country can never prosper alone, as regions prosper together and they both are of the opinion that if the region doesn\u2019t prosper, then everyone will be left behind.\u201d<\/p>\n In\u00a0the interview,\u00a0the information minister\u00a0added that\u00a0the country will open the Kartarpur border crossing for\u00a0to facilitate Sikh devotees\u00a0in their travel to Guru Nanak\u2019s\u00a0shrine without a visa and partake in religious ceremonies.<\/p>\n Chaudhry\u00a0further said the government has formulated a mechanism for the opening of the border and the travel of Sikh devotees. The mechanism will soon be implemented, he confirmed.<\/p>\n \u201cImran invited Indian players as soon as he became the prime minister. In his first speech, he stated that if Delhi took one step towards us, we\u2019ll take two in their direction. He also talked to his Indian counterpart,\u201d Chaudhry elaborated\u00a0in his interview.<\/p>\n \u201cThe problem for India is the way Narendra\u00a0Modi conducted his anti-Pakistan election campaign, the Bharatiya Janata Party are stuck with the mindset and now, if they promote friendly relations with Pakistan, their voter base might be affected.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked how the incumbent government\u2019s policy for\u00a0India is different from previous governments, the minister said all state institutions are on the same page and have are\u00a0united on the country\u2019s approach towards foreign policy.<\/p>\n \u201cIn the past, the United States and the west complained that Pakistan\u2019s political and military leadership have different narratives. This is no longer the case.
