Islamabad: Aug 11, 2021 (TNS): Minister for Science and Technology Senator Shibli Faraz says use of Electronic Voting Machines will help make electoral system rigging-free, fair and transparent for an acceptable and reliable result. <\/p>\n

He was briefing the media on Electronic Voting Machine at the Parliamet House Islamabad today (Wednesday). National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and other parliamentarians were also present on the occasion.<\/p>\n

Shibli Faraz said the EVM would not be hacked as it is not linked with internet.<\/p>\n

Presenting a mock use of the machine, he said the EVM will complete the voting process at a high speed in a transparent way. He said a voter could not use the machine for more than one time in an election process.<\/p>\n

Shibli Faraz said result of EVM cannot be manipulated as there would be two records created through this process; a paper record and an electronic record. He said there would be no possibility of error in counting of votes.<\/p>\n

He said identification would be on the basis of the CNIC and it would be verified by data provided by the NADRA.
