United Nation: Oct 19, 2021 (TNS): Pakistan\u2019s Ambassador to United Nations, Munir Akram, held meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and apprised him about the worsening human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the concomitant threat to regional peace and security.<\/p>\n
The Pakistani ambassador urged the UN chief to take steps to promote peace in South Asia.<\/p>\n
Munir Akram also expressed alarm at the continuing extrajudicial killings in staged encounters and fake cordon-and-search operations, as well as arbitrary detentions and crimes against humanity by Indian occupation forces in Kashmir.<\/p>\n
The ambassador also drew the attention of the secretary-general towards Indian Home Minister\u2019s \u201ccallous\u201d statement threatening to conduct so-called \u201csurgical strikes\u201d against Pakistan.<\/p>\n
Pakistan, he said, desires peace with India but it would spare no effort to resolutely thwart any aggressive designs by India.<\/p>\n
The Secretary-General expressed concerns on the worsening situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and promised to make efforts towards de-escalation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
