New Delhi, July 18 (TNS): New Delhi termed reports about casualties of Indian soldiers in Sikkim as “completely groundless”, “malicious” and “mischievous” as a result of military action of China, Indian media quoting officials reported.
Early some media reports suggested that at least 158 Indian soldiers were killed as Chinese troops ambushed Indian post in Sikkim region.
Gopal Baglay, spokespersonof Indian External Affairs Ministry denied such reports saying that that no cognizance must be taken of these media reports which were totally rubbish.
Responding to a query on reports in Pakistani media, Baglay said that such media reports have no ground reality and termed them as completely baseless, malicious and mischievous.
His reaction came after a Pakistani media segment reported at least 158 Indian soldiers were killed as China fired rockets across the border on Indian post in Sikkim region where two giant nations locked horned in a border dispute between Bhutan and China.
