Interpol contacts its British office for red warrants against Altaf Hussain

Islamabad, June 16 (TNS): Interpol Headquarters in France has contacted its office in Britain for the issuance of Red Warrants of MQM founder Altaf Hussain, state media reported on Friday.

According to the Interior Ministry, the Interpol has sought information about legal position of Altaf Hussain’s stay in the United Kingdom.

Last week, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) sent an application to Interpol requesting the issuance of a red warrant against Altaf Hussain.

This was the second request by FIA to the global policing organisation to arrest and extradite Hussain after the first one was rejected earlier this year.
