ISLAMABAD (TNS): Notification of PPP’s victory in PS 114 by-election stopped


ISLAMABAD JULY 13 (TNS): ECP stopped on Thursday the success notification of Saeed Ghani in case of by-election controversy in PS-114 and postponed the case hearing till July 17.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday challenged PPP candidate Saeed Ghani’s victory in recently-held by-election on PS-114 constituency claimed that the PS-114 by-election was ‘rigged’ by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

The by-election were held on July 9 in PS-114 PPP’s where PPP’s Saeed Ghani won the elections by obtaining  23,840 votes followed by MQM-Pakistan’s Kamran Tessori, who secured 18,106 votes.

Meanwhile talking to media after the hearing of the case in ECP, MQM Chief Farooq Sattar said that our lawyer raised various points before ECP regarding the case. The elections were rigged and during the by-election in PS-114 troubles were created for voters, so all the votes should be verified through biometric system by the ECP.
