ISLAMABAD (TNS): SECP chief’s pre-arrest bail rejected


ISLAMABAD July 11 (TNS): The Registrar of Islamabad High Court rejected the pre-arrest bail of Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Chairman Zafar Hijazi on Tuesday and asked him to go to the trial court.

SECP chief bail before arrest application was in connection with official record tampering against him.

Hijazi said that he has been falsely accused in the record tampering case and he should be given a chance to prove and defend himself.

The special bench, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan had given the order for registration of FIR after the attorney general informed the court of the result of FIA’s inquiry. The criminal case was registered under sections 466 and 471 of Pakistan Penal Code.
