London, June 17 (TNS): Ministry of Information and Technology has approved next generation mobile services (NGMS) project in Gilgit-Baltistan which is part of CPEC and other 30 cities across the country.
The ministry has allocated over Rs. 110 million in the current fiscal year 2017-18 while total worth of the project is Rs. 30 billion.
Under CPEC, next generation mobile services (3G/4G) to be provided from Chinese border Khanjrab to Gwadar in southwest while existing mobile and internet services across the country to be improved.
Under the project, masses of Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan to be facilitated with the state of the art telecommunication technology.
The cities where NGMS would be provided are included Khuzdar, Zhob, Pashin, Thakot, Raikot, Gwadar, Dera Bugti, Haripur, Havelian, Dera Ismail Khan, Khanewal, Attock, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and others.
