Jam Kamal Khan named as Balochistan CM by consensus among coalition parties

QUETTA, August 10 (TNS): Jam Kamal Khan was announced as Cheif Minister of Balochistan on Friday by consensus among the coalition parties, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Balochistan National Party (BNP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) whereas Abdul Qadus Bizenjo was formally nominated for the provincial assembly speaker slot.

Reportedly there were differences over Jam Kamal’s nomination earlier for the chief minister slot among the top leadership of (BAP).

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders in Balochistan ,BAP and Akhtar Mehngal’s Balochistan National Party (BNP) expressed their reservation when Jahangir Tareen took a stance of backing Jam Kamal on behalf of PTI for CM position.

PTI chapter in Balochistan claimed that Jahangir Tareen and other top leadership of the party did not take them into confidence on support of Kamal as candidate.

Whereas, the Balochistan parties said that the right to take decisions in Balochistan should only be given to the Balochistan leadership.

The development came a day after winning candidates of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) had announced their “unconditional support” for PTI.
