JIT report with “most likely”, “it seems” words can’t prove PM guilty: PML-N

Islamabad, July 15 (TNS): Amid pressure from all major political parties, ruling PML-N leaders said those demanding Prime Minister to step down should first read the Joint Investigation Team report which based on “most likely” and “it seems” sentences.

Addressing a joint press conference with Daniyal Aziz here on Saturday, Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said that PML-N is united under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said probe team was assigned to the ownership of offshore assets owned by the premier but it worked beyond its domain and started investigation against the ruling family.

The minister said that probe panel could not find even a single evidence of corruption against Sharif brothers when they hold public offices.

Chaudhry said there were no proofs of money laundering and tax evasion in Joint Investigation Teaam’s findings.

He went on to say that the PML-N parliamentary party has shown firm confidence into leadership of the Prime Minister and voiced ample support to Nawaz Sharif.

Daniyal Aziz, on occasion, said that the remarks in the report against Nawaz Sharif and his family were based on mere speculations instead of solid evidences.

He said the words like ‘most likely’ and ‘it seems’ were used to declare Nawaz Sharif proprietor of London apartments and such grey conclusion of JIT was not acceptable.

“Why the probe team had not recorded the testimonial of the Qatari Prince who was a key witness”, Danyal asked.
