KARACHI (TNS): Sindh Govt extends Rangers’ special powers


KARACHI July 12 (TNS): The provincial government on Wednesday approved the extension of Rangers’ special powers in Karachi for another 90 days.

After the request is approved by the Ministry of Interior, the paramilitary will be able to prevent the commission of terrorist acts and scheduled offences in notified areas.

The Sindh government is also expected to approve the summary for extension of the Rangers’ stay by one year to aid the police and civil administration in Karachi soon.

The paramilitary force’s tenure for aiding the police and civil administration was due to expire on July 19.
