Peshawar June 07 (TNS): The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will present the annual budget with a total outlay of over Rs600 billion for the fiscal year 2017-18.
In the budget, Rs208 billion have been allocated for development expenditures under the Annual Development Programme and Rs52.55 billion for pressing financial obligations. Over 80 percent of the development funds would be allocated for the ongoing projects including 1,182 ongoing and only 449 new ones.
The KP government has decided to jack up salaries and pensions by 10 to 15 percent.
According to budget documents, the province’s own-resource component of the ADP would be Rs126 billion.
The health and education sectors will get a significant chunk of the budget. The provincial government has set aside Rs12 billion for health 101projects.
The government has set aside Rs14 billion for 77 schemes of the primary and secondary education. The budget will be presented today after getting approval from the provincial cabinet.
