LAHORE, Aug 04 (TNS): Lahore High Court (LHC) has barred Civil Aviation Authority from collecting processing free from passengers traveling via air routes.
Petitioner’s lawyer, during proceedings, informed Punjab’s top court that new software has been installed by CAA resulting in a hike in processing fee. The counsel apprised court that a processing fee of Rs8 was paid when old software was in placed whereas after installation of new software, CAA is charging Rs135 to local passengers and Rs160 to foreign passengers.
The petitioner pleaded the court to annul the new fee. Court summoned reply from CAA, federal government and other plaintiffs whereas hearing was adjourned for an indefinite period.
