Mirwaiz congratulates pellet-blinded Insha for qualifying board exam, calls her ‘resilience’ an example

SRINAGAR, Jan 10 (TNS): Hurriyat (M) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Tuesday congratulated Insha Mushtaq, a teenager who was blinded by pellets fired by Indian forces in 2016 uprising for clearing her board examinations, the results of which were declared today.

In a tweet, Umar said: “Congratulations to brave Insha Mushtaq on clearing her class 10 exams. Despite going through the trauma of losing her eye sight due to pellets, she has managed an amazing feat. Her determination and resilience is an example for everyone. May Allah bless her always!”

Insha was blinded after indian occupation forces fired a barrage of pellets at her when there were protests going on in her village, Sedow, of South Kashmir.

Reacting on the result, her father Mushtaq Ahmad Lone has said that their “happiness knew no bounds”
