LAHORE, July 09 (TNS): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed mixing unit of a biscuit factory over use of substandard material and poor cleanliness condition here on Sunday.
Headed by Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yaseen, a team of PFA raided a biscuit factory located at Sheikhupura Road in the provincial capital Lahore.
During operation it was found that the material used in manufacturing biscuits was sub-substandard and outdated. The hygienic condition was also found to be very poor after which the PFA sealed the mixing unit the factory.
Bilal Yaseen said that record of chemicals used in manufacturing biscuits was not found and the administration also failed to produce medical certificates of the workers.
