Islamabad June 08 (TNS): The National Assembly on Thursday passed a unanimous resolution condemning the terrorist attacks on the Iranian Parliament and the Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum.
The resolution said that the government of Pakistan and the people stand by their Iranian government and Iranian brethren and strongly condemn the terrorist attacks.
The resolution also called upon the Muslim Ummah to forge unity to foil the nefarious designs of enemies and resolve their mutual issues through dialogue.
Earlier, the government of Pakistan strongly condemned the terrorist attacks on Iranian Parliament and mausoleum of Imam Khomeini in which precious lives of 12 innocent people were lost. “We stand in solidarity with the people of Iran in their hour of grief,” said a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We offer our deep condolences to the people of Iran, the government, and the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured. Pakistan condemns terrorism, which is a global phenomenon and common challenge, requiring a resolute and coordinated approach to deal with the menace,” it said.
The Islamic State (IS) group had claimed it carried out the attacks.
