ISLAMABAD, April 20 (TNS): Pakistan’s anti-corruption body, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), on Friday approved an investigation into allegations against former President Pervez Musharraf for “holding assets beyond means” and “wrongful use of authority”, says a press release issed by the anti-graft watchdog.

In Executive Board Meeting, the NAB chairman, retired Justice Javed Iqbal, also ordered investigations against various current and former officials including Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Chaudhry Moonis Elahi for owning an offshore company and Bank of Punjab’s President for having assets beyond means.

Recently, NAB initiated inquiries against politicians whose names had appeared in the Panama Papers after the Supreme Court, in November last year, sent notices to it and the federal government seeking progress reports on action taken against Pakistanis named in the Panama Papers.
