NATHIA GALI, June 6 (TNS): As rumors were circulating in political and media circles, senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Nazar Muhammad Gondal on Tuesday formally joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
He announced the decision at a press conference which was also attended by PTI chairman Imran Khan and other leaders of the party at Nathia Gali, a resort in KP.
Imran Khan welcomed the former PPP leader and his family saying that “parties of status quo” has ruined state institution.
Imran Khan said many ruling PML-N leaders are in touch with him who are expressing their desire to join PTI.
He said that along with the old PPP members (who are joining the PTI) a new Pakistan would be formed.
“Now people have to decide whether they want status quo or a change,” said Khan.
Speaking on the occasion, Nazar Muhammad Gondal said he decided to join the PTI in order to bring change and prosperity in the country.
Gondal is the third PPP leader and second from Punjab to join the PTI in recent weeks as Zardai’s close aide Noor Alam Khan and Fidus Ashiq Awan have already abandoned PPP and joined Imran Khan’s camp.
