New Islamabad airport faces another delay


Islamabad, Nov. 27 (TNS): Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan says work is underway on five new airports, and four of them will become operational next year.

He said new Islamabad airport will be made operational in the first quarter of next year.

Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan said the work on the connectivity roads will be completed by the end of this year.

The advisor said work on Gwadar airport will be started next year.

The inauguration of much tardy project delayed several times.

Equipped with modern facilities, new Islamabad airport would be the biggest airport in the country.

Earlier, Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials said that construction of the Islamabad Metro Bus had caused delays in building the link roads.
